For the past few years since the Pandemic I have been playing mostly in and around Hawaii
For 3 Years I was playing Guitar for the Burn’n Love show. The show Closed May 8th 2018. When you work on a full time guitar player at a theater playing 5 to 6 nights a week you pretty much live for the show. now I have a real understanding of the saying The show must go on.
Playing in a theater show was a lot of fun. I was happy to be able to play guitar for 3 years with well-produced show
September October 2016
Hi Everyone, I am so happy to have the job I have. Being a full time guitar player
is the best job in the world. I love in Maui too. I have been building a new studio
I have a few new guitars too. As a guitar player we are always buying new guitars and amps to test out.
I am going to keep recording and working on my craft.
Starting October 15 2016 I am going to
start playing a Mulligans on Saturdays.
I also am in The Burn'n 'n love show at the Maui Theater in Lahaina
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesdays and Fridays.
2015
Updated May 2015, Wow I am finally getting my blog updated I am finally getting my page up and running since 2011, two and a half years ago I started playing with a country band on Maui. Moved to Maui December 2012. I am now playing in 5 different bands on the Islands, The Kihei Cowboys, Crunch Pups, Alan and Friends, Jack Geist and The Jist and the Natalie Nicole band. To recap this last year has been great. I was at Winter NAMM January and had a blast. Been traveling and enjoying playing music.
2011
This was a hard end to a good year. My dad passed away last month. The one thing he told me was that he had a great life and not to worry that we all have to go. Either way it is never easy. One great thing is I have a new Chan of Souls band now.
The new band will be a lot of fun. Both the drummer and the bass player have great voices and they are great players. This makes my job very easy. So I am back playing and recording this year. 2011 will be a great year. Happy New Year, Alan
To recap this last year... I took a break from playing the clubs in Los Angeles July 4th 2009. The New Chain of Souls band is going to hit the Los Angeles area running. Our new bass player is the master TOM JENKINS. We were in the studio a week ago, the first session was just a fun jam and immediately I felt a chemistry and I kn ew then I found the right bass player. Eric Thompson has been a good friend and great drummer. Eric and I have been talking about playing together in a band for the past five years. This year we both had the time and here we are today. I have been writing original songs for years and now I have the right members in place to record our CD. We are still looking for the right front man or woman singer. To start we are a Jazz-Blues, funky instrumental kick ass band. Come out and see us soon!
January February March 2010
Another year is here and I am still in the market for a great music project. This year I have done a few gigs as a hired gun. I was up in San Francisco played at Jays studio, did a gig in OC and played a party. Besides that I have been in the studio at home recording. This has been a great year meeting different musicians and enjoying my life.
So lets get on to it. IF your a band in need of a pro guitar player please call me our send me an e mail. I have been in projects doing R & B, Smooth Jazz, Fusion, Country, Latin Rock, Blues and Rock. Please don't hesitate to contact me for an audition. If you need guitar on your recordings I can play many different styles.

Happy New Year
Here i am in California. I am no longer playing cover songs with Mike and the gang. Teresa lost her brother October 5th. This was a big blow to her and I feel sad for the loss. It just reminds me that our time here is limited and how important it is that we do the things we want in life. Important can be different things for each of us. I define important as do what makes you happy in life. If your happy and content with the choices that you make then that is fine for you. As long as you are true to your self then you can say" I have had a good life" For me I love playing live music, learning new things in school and I hope that my mom and dad and Teresa are OK. I just need to find the right band to tour with this next year. For now I am Chain of Souls and when I get the next band off the ground Chain of Souls with it's new members will continue. Have a happy holiday and Piece Be With You.
June - September 2009
Wow where did this summer go? I never made it to Vegas to record and I never got on the Green Catherine CD. Jay and I have to record soon before this year is over. It just seems that every weekend I have a gig and I can get out of LA. The one trip I did take was a two week trip to Maui. When I got back from Maui the fires in Los Angeles blazing all over. The air quality was so bad I spent a week in the house and then got bronchitis. I am just as of today feeling 90% back to my normal self. I am back in school this semester studying Chemistry and Med Term. The good I have written about 10 songs this summer. I just need to record them. I am not playing in any bands and I have one gig on Oct 3ed. I should be able to do some recording soon. I am keeping my eyes out for the next great band I can play with and I am currently looking for session guitar work.
MAY 2009
Hi all, I started recording and working on writing finally. I recently got a call from a Las Vegas Producer that want's me to fly out and add lead tracks on his latest CD. They have some real hot contacts. I will also go up and finish the recording project with Jay in San Francisco. His latest CD is called Green Catherine. Not much else to report. I am still looking for other projects to play on here in LA.
April 2009

Chain of Souls is a band that consist of lots of musicians. Most musicians in LA are busy with many projects Chain of Souls is many other members depending on who is free. Soon I will be the posting more of my original songs on' www.myspace.com/chainofsouldband
This summer I plan to concentrate on playing live around the LA area, recording my songs, and do some traveling. Thanks for keeping in touch through my home page. If you are planning on going to Nashville NAMM show contact me for more information as I will be there.

Chain of souls is just going to be a club cover band. The current members are Steve Mc Gowen vocals, Mike Victory Drums, Enrique Vazquez Bass and my self on Guitar. Everyone in the band is very busy doing other projects or just busy with work and family. We are open for gigs but everyone seems busy and we don't spend much time in the studio and we aren't out getting more gigs ether. We seem to be a regular house band at Ricks. I have accepted the fact that all this band is going to do is casual gigs here at there. The Joel Ellis project for me is not going to work out. I do not want to post anything here on the web page but I just want to say for what ever reasons I am not going to endorse his band or play with them and we have parted ways.
As for me I am still looking for a great band that is willing to do the work. It is more up to the individual players to do the work and want to have a great band. As much as I want the great band I am not the type of person to push people and criticize their playing or their commitment to music. So at this time I am still looking for a great music project to be a part of. I still plan on recording my original music, the past three months Teresa and I have had several guest at our house. I have been on the road and away from Los Angeles every month this summer. Because of all the traveling and guest my recording has not gotten off the ground. Time is what I wish I had more of.
On October 4th I did a gig with Gill Reynolds in Portland. What a great time I had. Gill put together a 12 piece band. We rehearsed two nights in a row and did the Hot Glass Horizons gig. It was a lot of fun. The band sounded great. The band were all professionals and we all had a good time. I really wish that I had those guys down here in Los Angeles.
June 2008
I just got back from Maui last week. I played music one night with some old friends on the Jungle side of the island. Being on Maui was great! We were out on 7 acres of land in a studio, in the background was a full moon rising over the volcano. I really appreciate how great it is to be alive and well and how great this world is. This summer I am just playing around with a few different projects. Joel Ellis from Cats in Boots and I are planning on recording his follow-up album in the studio this summer. I will have more information this week as we start recording. I have a few trips planned, Chicago, New York and where ever else my life brings me. This summer is open for any band that needs a guitar player. Soon I will be finished with my first CD. Keep in touch and send me an e mail and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
December 2007
This year has gone by so fast I can't believe it. To recap this year... I took a break from playing the clubs in Los Angeles to take care of my family. My father and mother both had their fair share of Hospital visits this last year. I took three trips to Maui each time my dad was in the Hospital. As far as Chain of Souls band, The bass player has been dealing with chronic pain in his neck that has stopped him from being able to continue playing live on a regular basis last year. Mike went on to play gigs with a Christian laten band. Ian I am not sure what he has been doing, This December 2007 we are doing a Reunion gig at Ricks in Alhambra. This will be Ian, Mike, and myself only gig of the year and possible last gig together. My life has been great, I have been writing original songs and working on my playing style. I take Guitar lessons from Bobby Robles when I can. I have enough guitar work for year to come. This next year I am going to start the new Victims of the Fury band with two good players and hopefully this will be the band I can record my originals with. My new web site will be active before the end of 2007 www.victimsofthefury.com I would love to hear from any bands or groups that need a guitar player. I am looking for work as a guitar player. Cheers have a great Holliday season.
Cheers, Alan Stevens
July 2007
This year I have been writing material for my new CD.
At this time I am open for recording and guitar work with any band that needs a guitar player for hire. Los Angeles, CA

Chain of Souls is getting great feedback from the fans. This band really rocks! Chain of Souls is mainly a club cover band at this time. Last year was booked playing with several different bands.
March
David moved to Europe and I was stuck with 5 gigs and no bass player/ lead singer. This left me with no time to go into the studio and record my original project last month. I ended up auditioning four bass players that clamed that they were lead singers. What can I say; none of them would have made it past the auditions at American Idol. After all the pain and agony I had to go through jamming with different bass players. I thought of some one I knew, Ian. Sometimes your solutions can be right in front of your face. I called Ian to see if he was available to fill in on bass and sing for my gigs.
Ian and I played three years ago when he was looking for a guitar player. At the same time I was looking for a band. We jammed one day, we both ended playing with other bands. What happened that day is we really liked each other's styles and became friends almost immediately three year ago. When we playied last week for out first time and out first gig. I was pleasantly surprised with his singing along with everyone that was there that night! I always knew he could play a kick ass bass guitar. What I didn't know, Ian is a great of a singer! In a weeks time we just added 40 new songs to our set list. Ian has decided to stay with the band as the lead singer. The new name of the band is, Chain of Souls. Mike and Ian are both great band members! Soon we will be recording our originals together. Check out the tour info page and come out and see us, this is a must see band. If you want to be on our e-mail list send me a e-mail me and I will add you to my list.
February
First the NAMM show was great! I was at NAMM one day. George Benson was just hanging out at Finder jamming. Then Frank Gamble came in a sat down with George and they jammed. What can I say except it makes me want to study more. Muriel Anderson's All Star Guitar night was great. Wow! I saw Stanly Jordan, Kiki King. Patti Larkin, Jennifer Batten, Mimi Fox, (Paul Rodgers, Heart), Jeff Berlin. To learn about the players go to this link below.
February, I will start recording my originals. Very sad news, David our bass player is moving to Europe. We will be auditioning bass players this week and next week. I will be changing the name of the band to Chain of Souls. Have a great month everyone.
January 2006
January will be the year of exciting new projects. I plan to record a new original CD and promote it with a new band. I will keep you all posted as this project continues first I have to finish and record the CD. For all of you that do not know, I have been making original necklaces that will be avalible for sale sometime in March. Each necklace is an original work of art. I was in Maui for two weeks to bring in the New Years. I had a great time. I got a lot of rest that I needed. Happy New Year to all my family, friends, and fans.

November 2005
It is hard to believe that another year is almost over and we are nearing 2006. This month stars out with promotion and a little work. David from Silver Town and I went out with our demo CD and gave it to 7 different owners of clubs and with in one day had two more gigs lined up for November and several dates for gigs starting the first of the year. With every goal there must be a plan. Keep and eye on my tour information page for upcoming gigs. After getting back form San Francisco studio recording, I have a renewed interest in writing and have completed 3 new original songs I am looking for a singer to help lay down vocal tracks on my originals. I picked up a multi track digital recorder on E-Bay and as soon as school is out ( Dec, 14th ) I will be recording my own music and posting it on my web page. Next year I will have a original project playing and promoting in LA. Who knows it has only taken me 20 years to start writing again. Have a great month and please if you can come and support my bands and come to see me play. I have been studying music and working on my guitar playing for years now, so come out to hear me play if you can. You know in LA all the club owners want to know is how many people will come when you play. Thanks for the support.

SEPTEMBER 2005
The band Silver Town sounds great! We need to get out, get more exposure and play more clubs. We are looking for gigs. At this time we have no manager so we have to get out and visit some clubs and get our demo out, untill we get out there or get a manager, the band Silver Town has no upcoming gigs at this time, this should change very soon. Silver Town got burned at the Wild on our pay so we don't want to play there anymore, a lot of friends that came down to see us keep asking where are we playing next. I will have the dats on my tour page as soon as I get them.
I just got back from San Francisco where I was recording lead tracks on some great originals songs for Jay Russio. We ran out of time and there was so much more to do so I guess I will be making another trip to San Francisco soon to spend more time in the studio.
At this time I am looking for other projects to work on here in Los Angeles area again. I wish I had more exciting news to tell everyone. Thanks for checking my page, Alan
August 2005
